The Role

Senior Python developer
The challenge of the role is to build and support software solutions for world top financial market participants. Learn and understand complex trading, derivative products and markets.

During the first 12 months, you will:

  • Build out new business features & integrations in platforms supported by the team.
  • Take the lead in re-platforming "Quotes" - deployment to Kubernetes cluster, observability with Grafana etc.
  • Help with bringing in the best code architecture patterns – reducing the number of patterns in use.


  • Deep understanding of Python
  • Experience designing, building, testing and operating distributed systems and their integrations
  • Ambitious and take ownership of designing, developing and maintaining solutions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and can communicate your ideas
  • Comfortable working with SQL databases, know how to optimise queries and able to design schemas
  • Work well within a team and believe in open discussion, inclusion and diversity


  • Knowledgeable in Linux environments (e.g. Ubuntu, Alpine or CoreOS)
  • Experience with the container ecosystem, in particular Docker on ECS and/or Kubernetes
  • Happy building pipelines, leveraging continuous delivery and automated testing to deliver robust software at velocity
  • Interest/background in financial services industry

The team is given high autonomy and work in two-week agile sprints. There are no requirements analysts, testers or project managers – developers are expected to engage and collaborate closely with the stakeholders throughout projects to successfully deliver the requirements.
We value high automation and high test coverage. We use Terraform to manage infrastructure, GitLab-CI to do continuous testing (unit, integration, end-to-end, UI) and Helm to do a deployment to Kubernetes cluster.


The role offers a unique opportunity to work in a global financial company that is operating in highly complex markets.
Our clients are the biggest hedge funds, assets managers and banks in the world. It will be possible to learn about derivative markets in multiple asset classes such as interest rates, equity indexes and government bonds.
The successful candidate will be given a lot of autonomy and the ability to collaborate with market practitioners in this unique space.
It will be possible to influence the technology direction of the team and the company – we are small and open to new ideas and challenges to old ways of doing things.
